All of us claim to be free but honestly not one of us is. There is something within us that restricts us from enjoying freedom in all its glory.

We all make common, but false assumptions that restrict us from enjoying freedom. We need to learn to deal with these assumptions so that we can enjoy freedom.

Life is too short for us to be bound by anything, we need to enjoy freedom. A learned libertarian, Harry Browne has written a book on the same.

How I Found Freedom In An Unfree World, by Harry Browne:

In this book Harry Browne exposes the error of our human thinking and provides us with the solution as well. To begin with, his book is written in an easy and simple language. It is in the form of simple sentences and paragraphs. No sophisticated words and it is extremely clear. His thoughts seem to jump out right out of each page. It is a must read book.

In his book, Harry Browne assumes that we believe that if we make our own choices, we will either avoid happiness or gain happiness. Therefore what is the reason behind our unhappiness? The reason, our beliefs are often very wrong.

The first section of the books deals with our false beliefs about what it takes to make us happy. He exposes the errors of our beliefs and offers ways that could truly lead to happiness.

In the second section he talks about how people believe that different entities are responsible for restricting freedom. He shows us how that is untrue and they none of these entities can prevent us from freedom.

The last or the third section is the major section of How I Found Freedom In An Unfree World. It reveals the most far-reaching ideas. This section reveals what Browne likes to call “starting to zero”.

“Starting to zero” is basically ridding your self of absolutely any aspect that does not coincide with your dream life. He shares a couple of accounts of his friends’ lives and encourages us to take action as soon as possible. According to Harry Browne, freedom demands bold actions.
